In 1937, dupa demolarea Legatiei Ruse din Calea Victoriei, a fost deschisa o noua strada, intre Calea Victoriei si Str. Brezoianu, care initial se numea Str. Prelungirea Doamnei. Strada se va numi Str. Eforiei.

In August 1939, Primaria orasului planuieste deschiderea unei noi strazi intre Bd. Elisabeta si Str. Eforiei. Aceasta va deveni Str. Alexandru Beldiman. Primaria semneaza actele pentru o expropiere partiala a proprietatii din Bd. Elisabeta Nr. 3, Unde se afla Restaurantul cu Colonade. Proprietarul era Socitatea Anonima "Bulevard". Primaria a platit 50.000 lei M.P. cu un total de 7.415.000 lei pentru terenul rechizitionat.
