Cu exceptia primei editii, fiecare editie a aniversat momente considerate cheie in fondarea natiunii, urmarindu-se o afirmare a identitatii României Mari, relativ recent formate. În acest context, Capitalei i se atribuie un caracter reprezentativ pentru întreaga tara:

1936 – 70 de ani de la sosirea principelui Carol;

1937 – 60 de ani de la razboiul de Independenta;

1938 – 20 de ani de la unirea românilor din 1918;

1939 – centenarul nasterii lui Carol I si 50 de ani de la moartea lui Mihai Eminescu;

1940 – 10 ani de restauratie.
